Bink International Charity has held on July 15,2023 in the Bronx its second annual children’s play and learn day.
Our goal and mission are to create a space for kids to play, learn, connect and bond with one another. Children enjoyed many games: They got to play different relay race games including the sack relay race, the 4-legged relay race, the sponge relay race, the dart board and the tug of war game. They competed in groups and individually.
The purpose of these games was to teach children how to collaborate and work together as a team to complete a specific task. For instance, during the 4-legged relay race between two groups of four, one group chose to move their right legs all together at the same time first and then the left legs and so forth; and the second group decided to crawl. This task fostered discussion among teammates to come up with the best strategy and plan to win the race.
Older children have to learn how to work with much younger ones to win the game and they learn from each other. As event organizers, we are very happy to say that the event was successful, and our little ones had a lot of fun and went home with plenty of toys and prizes.
About eighty (80) kids attended the event with their parents. Each kid got at least one toy to take home. The best part is that the VIP-Beauty Studio was also on site to offer face painting to the kids. We are so grateful to all the organizations that came out to support us.
We want to thank Carine Siltz Kapinga for bringing out some PPE materials and HIV/AIDS Awareness resources to distribute at the event. Mrs. Carine Siltz Kapinga is the founder of the African advocates against AIDS inc. Mrs. Carine Siltz and her team do street outreach initiative effort for HIV/AIDS Awareness and covid-19 prevention weekly distribution of ppes materials. They also offer information and resources about HIV testing sites from their partners to the community in need in New York City.
We also want to thank Alize Lavie, a journalist and founder of Alize Lavie Magazine for stopping by. And last but not least, big thank you to MetroPlus Health for their continuous support. Even though their team couldn’t be there physically this time, MetroPlus Health has gave us some kits including face brushes and COVID protection kits to share with the community. We are forever grateful for all they do for the community.
Big shout out to our amazing volunteers for helping us plan, organize and execute this event. We couldn’t do it without each one of them.
