Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light ( HWPL) has held on March 18, 2023, in Manhattan its 7th annual commemoration of the declaration of peace and cessation of war. About 100 people from different sectors have attended the event, which was held under the theme of “ Institutional peace: strengthening communication to build the trust.”
Talking about peace around the world is significant. According to Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, “the current global community has the highest count of conflicts since World War II. One out of four people live in conflicted – areas, and the number of people forcibly displaced due to violence or human rights violations has gone over 100 million in 2022.”

Lee Man – hee the chairman of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light was optimistic about peace in the world during his videotaped speech as he said: “ Peace is close, and it will bear its fruits.” He believes that the world would be a peaceful place to live if everyone practices peace. The reason why he has invited people to “ educate peace at home, in their family and at school.” “ Peace should start from home and at school as well,” he added.
To achieve that peace, “it’s clears we need the help of international community,” said Yongmin Shin, the U.S. East Coast Director of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, which sees a “ necessity of a multi – party approach involving multiple actors in peacebuilding efforts to establish peace that lasts long term.”

For Amanda Dixon who also spoke on behalf of Yongmin Shin, “ the whole world wants peace.” She believes that “ working together and spreading a culture of peace” is another way “ to achieve peace.”
The event was an opportunity for the attendees to take a look at the war in Ukraine. They indeed read and wrote peace letters to Russia president Vladmir Putin.
“ Let’s leave a legacy of peace,” Lee Man – hee concluded.
