The President of Burkina Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, met this Friday with Afro-descendants present in Ouagadougou, as part of the event entitled “Welcome Home.” They reaffirmed their support for Captain Ibrahim Traoré and their desire to invest and settle in the land of upright men.
Speaking about their establishment in Burkina Faso, the President of Burkina Faso told his “700 Ambassadors of Burkina Faso”: “Regarding the permanent resident card, (…) we have decided to remove the financial requirement for you.” He reminded them that Burkina Faso is resilient, standing strong, and alive.
Captain Ibrahim Traoré emphasizes that the struggle waged by Burkina Faso is a struggle of endurance and for the true and total liberation of Black people. “We are not fighting for Burkina Faso alone, we are fighting for Africa. We are fighting for Black people. We are fighting for the dignity of Africa. We are fighting for the well-being of our people,” asserts the President of Burkina Faso.
The Leader of the People’s Progressive Revolution reiterated his call to people of African descent and to all those who cherish peace, freedom, and prosperity to join the fight against imperialism and its tentacles. He emphasized the victorious resistance of Africans in the face of various historical adversities.
During this meeting, the President of Burkina Faso also outlined investment opportunities in various sectors to the Afro-descendants. “We will support you in investing in key areas that can benefit you and all your brothers and sisters here,” the Head of State affirmed.
Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, speaking on behalf of people of African descent, praised the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the first contemporary Head of State to officially call on the African diaspora to return to their roots with his famous phrase, “back to your roots.”
Nearly 700 people of African descent from the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean have been in Burkina Faso since October 26, 2025, for several weeks.
